The Upward Call
Phil. 3:13-14 “Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
We began at the beginning. We went on a journey that led to the Cross of Christ. We went through the Cross to come into His kingdom. We have explored His kingdom from various vantage points. It is easy to miss the fact that there is an “Upward Call of God” at each step along the way. He is relentless, isn’t He?
As always, we only have one choice with two options. We will either press upward or spiral downward. The goal is up. The prize is up. The call is up. God is up. Christ Jesus is up. The Holy Spirit is pointing up. All that is of eternal value is up. We get to choose, whether up or down. But we do not get to choose not to choose and we do not get to choose what is up and what is down. He is also consistent, isn’t He?
